The Fishing Competition section of this event is limited to registered entrants only and runs from 6.00am – 2.30pm on the day.

The Family Fun Day is FREE for everyone and runs from 11.00am – 5.00pm on the day.

REGISTRATIONS

There are three categories for the competition:

Boating Angler

Senior – Shore

Junior – Shore

Land-based competitors must fish between Fisherman’s Hollow Yanchep in the South, and Dewars Beach Two Rocks in the North.

START PROCEDURE

The Competition will start at 0600hrs for all-land based and boating entrants. No boats shall leave Two Rocks area prior to the start and they MUST sign-in with Two Rocks Marine Rescue before leaving.

All boat competitors must launch from Two Rocks Marina and log-in with Two Rocks Marine Rescue before leaving the marina on Channel 72 VHF.

Small boats who do not possess radios must telephone Marine Rescue Two Rocks on PH: 9561 5777 to log in and out, as a condition of entry for this competition.

All Land-based entrants do NOT need to check-in prior to commencing fishing.

Only registered competitors are permitted on the boat registered into the competition. Officials will monitor from the jetty.

WEIGH-IN PROCEDURE

Weigh-in will take place at the Main Marquee on the upper-level car park of the Marina, where the main event will be held.

ALL COMPETITORS MUST WEIGH IN BETWEEN: 11:00 – 14:30HRS ONLY ONE (1) FISH OF EACH LISTED SPECIES CAN BE ENTERED INTO THE COMPETITION BY EACH ENTRANT.

Registered boat entries must log off with Two Rocks Marine Rescue by 14:30 hrs.

All Boat Competitors must be “Logged Off”, to be eligible for prizes.

Any Competitor not logged off by 14:30hrs will be disqualified.

Officials will be closing the line at 14:30hrs. Late weigh in’s will not be accepted. Any entrant not in the weigh-in line by 14:30hrs will be unable to weigh-in.

PRIZES

MYSTERY WEIGHTS: Prizes will be awarded to the entrant with the fish closest to the mystery weight.

If there are multiple entrants with a fish closest to the mystery weight, the entrant that weighed in first will win. Mystery weights will be announced at the presentation. The prize categories are as follows:

BOATING ANGLER PRIZES:

MAJOR PRIZE: 1st Prize – Heaviest (by weight) Dhufish – $5000 Anaconda Voucher 2nd Prize – Pink Snapper – Closest to the mystery weight – $250 Anaconda voucher 3rd Prize – Break Sea Cod – Closest to the mystery weight – $150 Tavern at The Rocks voucher

SENIOR SHORE PRIZES:

Closest to the mystery weight – $250 Anaconda voucher

Whiting- Closest to the mystery weight – $200 Tavern at The Rocks voucher JUNIOR

SHORE PRIZES:

Whiting – Closest to the mystery weight – $100 Anaconda voucher Blowfish – Closest to the mystery weight – $50 Anaconda Voucher voucher.

 

PRIZE WINNERS:

Prizes awarded are not refundable or transferable and competitors must be present at the official presentation at 16:00hrs to receive their prize.

Lucky Competitor Prizes will be drawn on the day. These will be drawn out of a hat.

Lucky Competitor prizes will only be awarded to participants who are attending the presentations.

AWARD PRESENTATION

All awards will be presented at Channel 7’s Get Reel Two Rocks event, on stage under the main marquee on the day at 16:00 hrs.

ANGLING LIMITS

All fish presented for weigh-in must conform to current Department of Fisheries Regulations. The Department of Fisheries will be in attendance one the day.

CANCELLATION

  1. a) In the event the Competition is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances such as freak / inclement weather conditions, and deemed too dangerous for competitors, the event will be cancelled. Participants will be informed immediately via their Eventbrite contact information. No refunds will be available however, some “Lucky Competitor” prizes will be drawn.

In this situation, competitors do not need to be present at the draw to receive their prize.

  1. b) Cancellations due to Covid-19: if the event is cancelled due to State Government imposed lockdowns, all entrants’ fees will be refunded their entry fee (minus Eventbrite’s fee), unfortunately this will mean no prizes will be given out to any entrant.

SAFETY

To ensure the safety of our competitors, and importantly, as a condition of entry into this competition, boats need to log in with Marine Rescue Two Rocks on Channel 72 VHF when heading out AND log back out on their return.

Small boats who do not possess radios must telephone Marine Rescue Two Rocks on PH: 9561 5777 to log in and out, as a condition of entry for this competition.

All safety equipment on boats must be as per regulations and all skippers must hold a valid skipper’s ticket.

Competition officials will cross check with Marine Rescue Two Rocks to ensure competitors have logged in and out. If it is found that a winner has not (for boats only) logged in or out with Two Rocks Marine Rescue, their registration will be disqualified. This is a MUST for all boat competitors.

DISPUTES AND DISQUALIFICATIONS

Any dispute must be reported to True North staff no later than 10 minutes after the completion of the weigh-in (14:40hrs). The Disputes Committee shall adjudicate on all disputes within these rules and its decision will be final. Any competitor found to have breached the rules outlined in these Terms & Conditions shall be liable for disqualification.

ALTERATION TO RULES

True North shall have the power to vary the rules or arrangements to ensure the smooth running of the competition.

LIABILITIES

All competitors and persons taking part in the Competition do so entirely at their own risk and True North will not be held responsible for any loss or damage sustained by any competitor or any other persons to his or their own person and effects.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL ENTRANTS TO FOLLOW THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

True North will not accept any responsibility for any competitor misinterpreting the rules through either written or verbal communication reasons. Declaration:

TRUE NORTH AND PARTNERS TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY.

It is the responsibility of the Entrant to be aware of the current weather forecast and sea conditions. It is recommended that entrants check on the weather forecast throughout the day (by Phone or Radio).

I, acknowledge that I take part in the Competition at my own risk and undertake on behalf of myself, my heirs and executors not to hold TRUE NORTH AND PARTNERS (“the organisers”) or any of its officers, employees, officials, agents or contractors responsible for any damages, cost and losses of any nature whatsoever in connection with loss of life and/or damage to any property arising in any way whatsoever from or out of the Competition or occasioned wholly or in part by any act, neglect, default or omission by the organisers or by its officer, employees, officials, agents or contractors or by any other person or persons taking part in the Competition with the consent or approval, of the organisers.

COVID-19 SAFETY

Everyone is asked to please follow all directions set by WA State Government’s in relation to the Covid Safety Rules that will be in place at the time of the event.

We ask that if you have any flu-like symptoms or feel unwell that you do not attend this event.

NO SPEARFISHING permitted.

NO DRONES permitted.

Drones provide an unfair advantage. To allow each participant to compete with equal conditions, no drones or any extraordinary fishing methods will be permitted.
